3 years on it is now time to update and bring the book into line with leading edge
practices. The third edition of the Project Workout reflects the changes in the project
environment since the year 2000. Whilst the fundamental principles have not changed, the
business, organisational and technical landscape have moved on.
There is a growing demand in the UK public sector, where in 2003, the Cabinet decided ALL
government departments should have centres of excellence in project management. Peter
Gershon, CEO of the Office of Government Commerce, is himself aware of the Project Workout
and the impact it can have on selling real world project management. At a recent OGC
conference one delegate described it as Bloody brilliant!
The third edition will also be a message to academic buyers that the book is here to stay
and that many more universities can safely include it as a course text.
The Third edition will be supported by the Project Workout Live online resource. A fully
web enabled project environment will illustrate that this book not only tells people what
to do, but also gives them the tools.
