Strategic Management and
Information Systems
Taking an integrated
approach, this introductory text brings together currently dispersed or advanced material
into a digestible and coherent^ framework for the whole discipline. It supports the
increasingly wide skills profile expected of business and information systems students by
adopting a toolbox approach to techniques and their application. It provides a base
for the ongoing consideration of more complex concepts.
The text is split into three
parts.
The first part defines
strategic management and outlines the tools and techniques employed for analysis. ,
Part 2 explores the
evolution of information strategies and the techniques associated with developing business
enhancing strategies.
The book goes on to explore
the strategic management of information systems, describing the factors in the successful
implementation of the information strategies which were explored in the previous part.
Extensively updated in line
with new developments, the second edition of this established text continues to meet the
need for an accessible and practical textbook. Comprehensive and presented in an
attractive and user-friendly style, Strategic Management and Information Systems:
offers accessible treatment
of both theory and practice bringing the subject to the real world
integrates the management
and the systems perspectives ensuring excellent coverage of the subject
is supported by mini-case
studies and other material to stimulate discussion
each chapter is supported by
a bibliography which gives further scope to develop themes.
