EC LABOUR LAW

EC Labour Law is an introductory text that is structured to cover the main substantive areas of this branch of EU law. It provides, where possible, a clear focus on EC labour law in its own right, rather than in a wider social policy context. The author explores the parameters and boundaries of the evolving EC labour law and employment strategy in the areas of collective labour law, free movement of workers, equal opportunities and employment protection. The major impact of the Treaty of Amsterdam, interaction with other policy areai and academic debate surrounding the status of EC labour law as an autonomous subject are also analysed in full.

Erika Szyszczak is Jean Monnet Professor of European Law at the University of Nottingham, and was formerly Senior Lecturer in Law at the LSE. She teaches EC and employment law at postgraduate and undergraduate levels and is a member of the editorial board of the Modern Law Review.
